Paper Jet plywood boat kits

These photos were taken by top sailing photographer, Billy Black, in Newport and Mystic Seaport. He has generously allowed us to use them in this low resolution form.

Go to Billy's website if you need high resolution versions of these or others of the many photos in the series.

Lite rig, freestanding mast in forward mast step.

This is the same boat that you see in the photos above but now changed into a simple and forgiving boat, requiring a much lower level of skill.

Use the Lite rig for learners and kids or when you want a quick no-fuss sail after work.

Capsized, the yellow Paper Jet lies on its side and waits while I tidy up lines, stow the spinnaker etc before bringing her upright again. Dan Segal is on the daggerboard of the red boat, about to pull her up.

She rights so easily that with my 165lb weight I normally pull her up by hanging back on the righting line and pushing on the hull with my feet. Only in strong winds do I have to get onto the board.

Very quick and fun to sail in light conditions too.
